  1. Pull off a leaf, dip it into the sauce, and slide the leaf between your teeth to taste the meat of the artichoke.
  2. Once the larger outer leaves are consumed, you will see a layer of thin, pale leaves with violet tips. These should be removed until you reach the fuzzy round underneath called the choke.
  3. Remove the furry choke with your knife and discard. What remains is the delicious and tender heart of the artichoke. Dip this into the sauce and enjoy this luscious delicacy.
